Chefs Collaborative | Cultivating a Better Food System Together
My journey with Chefs Collaborative began more than a decade ago, and over the years it has grown into one of the most meaningful communities in my career. Today, I’m proud to serve on the organization’s Board of Directors, working alongside a national network of chefs who share a deep commitment to building a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient food system.
Chefs Collaborative is a nonprofit led by chefs, for chefs. Our mission is rooted in collaboration—connecting culinary professionals with farmers, fishers, advocates, and educators to spark cultural and structural change across the food landscape.
What makes this work powerful is how we do it. From policy-focused op-eds and chef-led symposia, to farm tours, field learning trips, and public food events, we use food as a platform to educate, activate, and inspire. Every gathering, every plate, every conversation is an opportunity to shift culture toward something more just, delicious, and sustainable.
At its core, Chefs Collaborative is about community—and the belief that chefs can be a force for good far beyond the kitchen. Whether we’re advocating for better labor practices, supporting climate-smart sourcing, or championing local food economies, we’re always asking: what kind of food system are we creating, and who is it serving?
Serving on the board gives me a chance to help shape that answer—and to support the next generation of chefs ready to lead with purpose.
